Scalability Pro htaccess

Hi Everyone!
I'm interested in using Scalability Pro for a user that I host. Does this plugin require custom htaccess or nginx rules? Are there any other technical requirements?

Sorry about this question not appearing earlier – turns out my exclusions file on my own nginx server were a bit aggressive and it was banning anything with ‘htaccess’ in the URL rather than just banning accessing .htaccess
